Some things I've been doing from an IH perspective on top of standard day to day moderating and posting of discussions...

I'm having some fun with Twitter:

    • trying to connect it better with the forum/community aspect of IH
    • sharing interesting posts and milestones with screenshots attached
    • posting questions to encourage people to comment
    • sharing quotes of the images that appear on loading IH website
    • I enjoyed the 'Write a sad indie hacker story in 3 words' responses, I will have to follow it up with a happy version 😊

I post a lot of what is posted on Twitter to LinkedIn:

    • got our first post with a decent amount of likes, I think this is largely down to the person in it sharing it to their network (she was tagged in)
    • I tag people in where possible
    • I send connection requests to said people too

I've cleaned up a lot of spam over the past few months, my next step is to start becoming a bit more strict in what people post.

Very cool, the twitter thread for sad stories is great, I had a lot of fun following it :)

Nice stuff with that Linkedin post. Still haven't started on Linkedin myself so useful to see as a blueprint.

I am starting to connect and communicate with others about the things I'm working on. I've gotten quite a few sign ups, but more importantly I've been getting some much needed feedback. And in some cases, I've started to build some meaningful relationships that are becoming quite fruitful.

I love working and interacting with others, even when I have to hear the truth about things I don't want to hear.

I have made progress on the implementation of Testerbot, but now I'm splitting my time to focus a bit on getting initial traction:

    • Created a Twitter @ https://twitter.com/testerbotio
    • Working on a plan to build a Landing Page. Exploring options and possibly looking for design help.
    • Planning to start collecting signups
    • Thinking about targeted ads

Hoping to release a beta version in the next 4 weeks.

    Project: deprocrastination.co

    Current growth efforts:

    • tweeting
    • posting daily goals through ProductHunt Makers feature
    • sending email to all users 1x week with new features (benefits)
    • working on retention (simplifying navigation, fixing bugs)
    • sending emails asking for feedback
    • set up G Suite last week and shipped Friend invitations feature (a step towards inherent virality)

I've been emailing my users, asking them how their progress towards their goals is going and how I can help. In the short term, this doesn't lead to much growth, but it sure helps in the long run.

On commitcheck.com I've been monitoring installs / uninstalls from the GitHub Marketplace and emailing those people. I want to help new users onboard smoothly and understand why people are uninstalling so I can improve the product.

I've also been building a new product which I hope to release soon :)
