I'm designing a landing page for a biotech investment research service and have a handful of past customers who've agreed to provide testimonials. They asked me to draft something that they'd then edit.
What should I write for them? Was thinking of a few options:
I'm leaning towards the fact-based option, with maybe one or two also discussing character based. But I've never asked for testimonials before so am really open to any advice.
I guess I would focus on the problems it has solved for them.
But I would also ask you to ensure you have diverse set of testimonials - I personally am put off by websites with testimonials from all white men...and there's a lot of them out there :(
Agreed, unfortunately 4/5 clients thus far have been old white men :(
I am organizing an event series on biotech VC and entrepreneurship though and it is looking like 75%+ of the speakers won't be white men and 60%+ will be female. I didn't do that intentionally, just tried to find the best ppl and turns out the best ppl aren't old white men :)
The important thing is being aware of it and trying to intentionally have diversity where possible. 👍

Check out what @pedrocortes wrote in this article, specifically the “More Social Proof” section. He’s one of the best I’ve come across at improving landing page conversions.
Thanks a lot @cspags! Well that one is a bit old... Wait until you see the latest ones :D
