Hello, IH!
I started this discussion because besides working on BotMeNot, I also have many ongoing tasks for my other projects and it can at times feel overwhelming.
What's your solution for this, and do you have any experiences and advice you want to share?
Hey ! I see that nobody replied to your message, so even If i'm in the same place as you I'll try to give you a little bit of what I do.
Right now I'm working on Symfoz, alone and yeah, things can be quite challenging, I mean, you have to do everything on your own, check if everything's okay, no bug, the maintenance, the marketing, the features ....
So what I do for now, is, when I feel like I have a lot of things to do, I just take a paper and list everything that comes to my mind. This way, my head is not thinking about all of these, because I'm not afraid of forgetting anymore since the things are on the paper.
And then, I already feel better. The next thing I try to do is to put little numbers on the priority and try to reflect "Is this really THAT important ?". Also, try to delegate if you can. If something takes you too much time or energy and if you can, just hire someone to do this for you so you can focus on the things you're better at.
And after this, I don't know really. I'm myself going some overwhelming phases, I did not launch the first version yet, and it will be almost 4 months that i'm working on it. So, also, not seeing the project online contributes to this feeling of frustration.
Also, if you code your application yourself, like me, just add a lot of tests. It's silly because everyone should do it, but when you have a lot of tests you can be pretty sure that your software will work as expected and it will remove a lot of anxiety.
And for the rest, I don't know. I don't have any routine like meditation or workout. I know that can help. I know that I do like to read a bit when feeling overwhelmed . Mostly personal development.
I hope I got to help you a bit, even if that's few months later ! Hope your project will be a success !
Thank you for sharing! It means a lot!
Best of luck with Symfoz!
