Last night I was scouting for influencers to contact for my app, lofi.co, and I found one that had recently done another collaboration with a product that, at least at first sight, was fairly similar to mine but not too much.
Obviously I checked it out and found out they basically copied every single part of my app, from the structure to even the logo (for context: my logo is a person sitting on the moon, on theirs there's a cat sitting on the moon), to the point it actually made me laugh and I still don't know if I'm fluttered or annoyed.
I don't think they'll go that far because of how blatant of a copy it is, which is why I didn't even bother contacting them, but I was curious what you guys would do (or have done) in a similar situation.
I have seen people naming and shaming publicly but it could be waste of energy as well. However, there are instances where calling out wrongdoing, when it gains significant traction and positive reception on social media, can actually enhance your credibility and helps people remember the original product. This may inadvertently drive additional attention to your competitors as well.
