What happened to Mechanical Turk (AWS)?

Hey There,
It's been a while I havent seen people mention Mechanical Turk? Is this still making any money for people working for them or the entire business model? Has anyone here thought of the crowdsourcing as API ?

Do you use any thing like it for your projects to get work done? (comment moderation?, image classification etc?)

Any insights?
