What if someone takes your idea?

How can you build in public? What if someone takes your idea? I get to hear this all the time.

Three things:

  1. I have new ideas every damn day. I have more ideas than I can ever execute in this lifetime.
  2. It’s all about execution, not about ideas.
  3. I don’t care about competition. All I care about is my users.

No worries 😃

How do you handle such questions?

Yeah, usually people are cautious of getting their "super magic" idea stolen with their first project. Later this changes. But yeah, it's all about execution. If you come up with an idea, you'll feel it all the way, and someone who steal ideas probably won't.

I had the same fears when I started out lol, but then I found out that someone is already doing the same thing even prior me and managed to raise 50M.

Another one: if you have a good idea, probably someone in the world already has it as well and doing it. If not, it's probably a bad idea.

Building in the public can actually help you to timestamp it to your name.
