What if we replace ego with kindness and curiosity

The hardest part about achieving a dream isn't actually achieving it - it's stepping through your fear of the unknown.

It's natural to be afraid. But what if there is a way around fear.

I get afraid when my ego takes over. I want to win, to get more, and to be better than others. Ironically, that makes me afraid of losing, of others winning and of me not being good enough.

After deep self-reflection (and discussions with my incredible friends), I started to replace my ego drive with curiosity. Instantly, failure became necessary. It allowed me to learn. Stepping into the unknown became necessary. It's the only way to discover. I stopped competing with others. I started improving myself. That became manageable and much less scary. Fear naturally started to fade away.

And then I added kindness to a curious mindset. That gave me confidence as I started helping others. I got a strong, unmovable purpose to what I am doing. That made fear disappear altogether.

So what happens if there is no fear? Then achieving your dream isn't hard.

I’ll push one step further: what if you could make a choice without assigning it an emotion?

Just...make a choice and do it. Feel a way, but do it anyway.

Fear and elation are both extreme ends of the same spectrum, and neither are valuable places to make business decisions.

It all comes down to choice. How you make choices - or more importantly, that you make them at all - that’s where things start to move.

Yes. I agree. Awareness is such a powerful tool.

Having a clear 3-year vision, clear monthly/week goals, and constant self-reflection helps me a lot. When faced with a choice, I always evaluate how am I moving closer to my vision.

Yes, strongly agree with this. The more you care about winning and "succeeding", the more scared you get because you don't want to fail. But to succeed, you need to be okay with failure.
