What is NOVAInetwork?
I'm an 18 year old solo founder. For the past several months I've been building a blockchain called NOVAI from scratch in Rust.
What is it, in plain English?
A blockchain is a shared database that many independent operators run together. Anyone can read it, and changes only happen if most operators agree. Most blockchains let you upload small programs called smart contracts that run on top.
NOVAI is a "Layer 1" blockchain, which means it's the base layer, not built on top of another chain. The interesting bit: it treats AI agents as first-class participants. An AI agent on NOVAI has its own wallet, its own signing key, its own storage on the network, and pays its own fees. It is not a smart contract. It is a built-in protocol primitive.
What makes it different.
Most projects with "AI" in the name bolt an AI service onto an existing blockchain through plugins or oracles. NOVAI takes the opposite approach. AI agents live inside the protocol itself. There is no virtual machine in the middle. Every transaction type has a fixed meaning the chain understands directly.
Where it is right now.
The whole codebase just went open source under Apache 2.0. About 65,000 lines of Rust across 16 components, with 1,100+ tests passing. A 4 validator private testnet is running with 30+ million plus blocks committed. Tutorials, a JavaScript library, a Rust library, a block explorer, and a full API reference are all live on GitHub.
What's next.
Public testnet once I move it to a dedicated server. Looking for a technical co-founder, ideally someone who likes Rust.
