What is the best way to monetize a Github hosted Open Source project?

Hello everyone. We are planning to make our WordPress based Saas platform open source and host it on Github. It will be nice if we could find a good way to monetize it. Our current idea is to charge a monthly fee to access a Support / Discussion group and add you to an otherwise private repository. Is there a better way to do this?
