What is your experience with freelancers?

I'm running a social/environmental product agency as a co-founder (https://jumanjilab.com/)
We are very lean so often relying on agencies and freelancers for additional development power.
A few learnings so far:
- Better to pay more for an experienced developer than pay very little for junior developers
- Get freelancers that can commit most of their time to you, when they work on many projects in parallel it gets difficult
- Run weekly sprints with reviews and dailies for better communication and speed
