Imagine you go into a car showroom.
The sales guy runs to you and says:
'Sir would you want to buy this car?'
You run out of the store the next minute
What happened here?
He LITERALLY tried to sell you at the entrance
You might be doing this too
Don't be that guy!
I think you are trying to make a marketing "mix"understood in here ...
One thing is marketing and other thing is sales.
This is a case of a sales person strategic aproaching to a potential client.
Maybe the right question was ... good day do you have something in mind ? :)
Pedro
yes I totally understand your point here!
But I'm trying to explain the point of why you shouldn't pitch every lead or potential customer. The key is to warm them up as you said!
The key is not to warm them up. It sounds like you are preparing to enforce a sale.
The line "good day do you have something in mind ?" shows respect for what the client wants or "have in mind" to buy when it enters in the autoshow. Never ... never ... and never again ... never try to sell something to a client that doesn't need it. Take his contact and say to him that you will inform him as soon as possible of what he wants appears in the autoshow. You will never lose the client and you will never be a pushy sales person in his eyes.
