I officially released Skedlo 4 days ago and I already see some good traction, I am also receiving good feedback from trial users. All good news.
I am still looking for the right target audience for this product, I think it should be makers, builders, maybe nocoders as well, but I would really like to have some opinions about this.
The only way I can see this project growing is to choose the right target.
Skedlo is a Twitter scheduling and analytics platform that supports both tweets and threads scheduling, saving drafts posts for later use and advanced analytics (coming soon).
Thought?
Two questions:
If the answer is no to either of those questions, it could be dangerous to move forward making up a target market; you shouldn't build a product then try and fit users to it. Lots of things could go wrong and you could end up spending a lot of time and money spinning in circles.
If you don't know really have an idea of who your target market is right now, you need to discover it before going all in on a segment.
Hey,
I actually created the @skedlo Twitter account even before writing the first line of code, this allowed me start asking questions to what I thought was my target audience to know their needs.
I was initially targeting social marketers, but I soon realized I am too small for them, they expect more advanced features and a deeper knowledge of the space of the problem which I don't have yet.
Thanks to some of the feedback I received I then realized that builders and makers need a more direct and straightforward approach... They need scheduling and analytics, hence why I feel like this is the right market.
At the moment my tiny userbase is quite mixed I have some builders and some marketers. They have different needs hence why I am trying to find the right balance in terms of features to plan/implement.
great work! keep going!
questions:
Hey,
re q1: I am working on adding more analytics into the mix, at the moment I offer features not supported by Buffer, but that other platforms have already, like thread scheduling. But this is just the beginning for me, I want to give users a clear view of how their scheduled tweets behave over time, I will probably use some machine learning as well.
Re q2: I just started, 4 days ago, and I already see 10 active users in trial which are extremely happy, some good mentions on Twitter about what I am doing and angry competitors... For me these are all positive signs, maybe I am a bit naive..
yeah. i love that. stay focused. solve one person's problem really, really, really well...
do you have a community around you? have you solved a (pre) customer's problem?
YES. folks who get upset that you're doing something with your life is a good sign. these folks need to focus their energy on building their own project! you're on the right path, keep going!
how can i help?
