What to do with Export io?
I have owned export.io for many years and still haven't done anything with it. Some ideas I have had in the past...

Allow people to request things from other countries that are not available in their country (e.g., video game console, special coffee or snack, clothes, anything).

Blog or directory to help with general exporting/importing.

Data export, conversion, transfer, and scraping tools.
3rd option was what I thought before reading it.
Since I consider this place as tech-heavy, that'd be the expected answer. But it depends on your expertise. If you know a thing or two about shipping, handling costs etc. 1st option sounds less saturated.
Checked the gTLD alternatives, all up for sale which is kinda bad since the .com can take over when you shine or it's a potential cost when you grow enough. So I'd go for a blog maybe, make the domain more valuable and flip it in the end.
Thank you. I have seen a few websites that do #3 but they mostly focus on one of them (export, conversion, or scraping).
I know data extraction and text analysis are important and will be even more important in the future (even Bill Gates said it's what he would focus on if he was just starting out). I have a friend who works on that using AI and special software and he keeps trying to push me towards it. The only extractions I have worked on so far is web scraping, OCR, and reading PDF's.
If you believe in the space and have expertise, you have the winner.
I remember a few sites converting just docx files into pdfs were doing good. I don't know how to find those people who needs your solution, hope you'll figure it out. Good luck with it.
Ok just spitballing an idea here but maybe pick a niche and build a tool for people who are leaving that service to export all their files/data. For example, as far as I can tell AWS S3 buckets don't have a button you can click to download all you files. What if I want to transfer from S3 to Cloudinary? You could build a tool that lets me attach my bucket and you could grab all my files and export it as a .zip or something. Or maybe a service like Shopify needs the ability to export products (I think this one actually exsists), or Gmail you want to export all emails.
Something along those lines? It'll give you a customer base to target such as "Shopify store owners".
As a test, I created a file explorer that connects to my Microsoft Azure storage account and shows all the files in a tree view. Each has a checkbox and it downloads the selected file to my local drive. Unfortunately, I don't know that there is much use for this because anyone can just map a drive to their storage account in their OS's file explorer. However, it was a good learning experience.
Thank you, I'll check out some of these services to see which one doesn't have easy exports and no Zappier or something like that.
