What's your number one twitter tip?
Hi all
Have had a personal twitter for a while, but don't use it so much.
I've set up a new account with the intent of building in public. What's your best advice or tips to get the most use out of the platform.
Also, if anyone could answer this that'd be cool. If I have longer posts I'd like to write, would it be best to stick these on a blog somewhere and link them from twitter? Or is it best to make a thread? Is this a 'traction' type scenario where I should initially invest mostly in one channel, or does that not apply here and it's better to have multiple entry points? I'm not talking super long articles here.

Figure out how to get likes by BIG accounts
I have 10,000 followers on Twitter and this is what I would tell you.
Twitter only shows your tweets to less than 5% of your followers.
If someone likes your Tweet then their 5% of followers will see it.
You need to DM and comment on big accounts. If you do it enough they will see your stuff without even following you, Then eventually follow you.
Next
Twitter will teach you to be a good copywriter. If you're not, your content won't go anywhere.
Next time you write a tweet think about the fact that you are competing with thousands of people. You have to try and stand out like your life depends on it.
Then…
When you finally push submit on the tweet, you have to market it. Post it here on Indie hackers, DM people asking their thoughts, etc.
Lastly…
It's a numbers game. If you tweet a thread everyday for the next 60 days I bet you will unlock thousands of followers.
