When to promote on ProductLaunch? ๐Ÿ‘€

Hey all. Left my 3k/mo dev startup job and started being nomadic indiehacker in 2023, travelling through Asia, so far just love it. For the first product I challenged my self to build a SAAS in 7 days, took actually 2 weeks haha but there it is, just released 48h ago. Broke down the steps on Twitter for those interested, #buildinpublic style ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

It's a WhatsApp bot leveraging OpenAI Whisper's technology and ChatGPT (yes, there it is again) to turn voice messages into text and summarise them. I just love using it my self as I don't have to take notes for long audio messages anymore haha.

Got like ~50 users so far, and first subscription yesterday - only $3,2 but damn it feels good to make money for the first time from something I built ๐Ÿ˜

edit, checked the data while writing the post: 57 users & 2 paid subscriptions - $3.2 & now a $16 ๐Ÿคฏ

And I'm like - When should I promote it on ProductLaunch? I'm gonna prep a video today-ish, but when do you know it's the appropriate time to go there ? Feels like the egg-chicken situation: need a community to rank up on ProductLaunch, but ProductLaunch can help build a community I guess, or at least provide some early adopters.

WDYT ?

I'm def open to any feedback on the product / pricing strategy / anything, love the collective intelligence ๐Ÿซถ

Hi there! Your story sounds wonderful, congratulations on your SAAS! Regarding your question about ProductLaunch, I have some insights to share. As someone who has been preparing for a launch on Product Hunt myself (Klu.so on April 18th), I have spent some time understanding how it works. There are companies with marketing teams that focus heavily on Product Hunt, so just posting your product as a builder may not be enough. My advice would be to build a community and share your story, forming a supportive cult of supporters that you can lean on during the Product Hunt day. This will give you a better chance of success. Best of luck with your product, and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or would like feedback!
