Where my first 100 digital product sales came from
A couple days ago (September 10), I posted about how ChromeExtensionKit surpassed 100 sales (103 to be exact).
I figured it would be interesting to see where those sales came from so I created a quick piechart that breaks down the source channels:
I think most are fairly self-explanatory with the exception of the "Newsletters" section. This portion came from a random feature in React StatusCode newsletter a couple weeks back.
If anyone has any questions, I'd love to answer them!

What was your strategy for Reddit? What subreddits published?
For Reddit, it was mainly subreddits I was already familiar with and understood the types of posts that did well on them (mostly Chrome Extension related), but one general subreddit that did pretty well was r/sideproject.
Really interesting. Regarding HackerNews, was it posting or just commenting on other relevant HN posts?
It was mostly from a single post that made it to the homepage (and stayed there for a day or so). I'm not entirely sure how or why it did well if I'm being honest, as I've posted it before and it only got a couple votes, but this time around it blew up quickly (relative to the last one, anyway). I think it largely comes down to luck and timing with HackerNews.
Did you post the same product with same domain or there was a new update, like a new version release?
Nope! Just posted the same link with a different title variant a couple weeks after the first one.

From what I know, they have a human editor who actually decides what gets on the front page (it's not algos like with Reddit and probably IH as well).
I don't think so. it's an algorithme for sure.
We launched there too and got it the front page for 12 h.
