Which Domains not to use?
I am currently working on an application and I'm trying to find a suiting domain. Since the product will be B2C and not B2B, I do not think .io domains are that suitable. It is nearly impossible to find a suiting .com domain in the market I am in for less than 2k $. So the potential name for my app perfectly fits to an .al domain which is from Albania. That would end up in a unique product name that is 100% reflected in the domain. Something like spoti.fy or charl.es. Are there any downsides? Should I rather go for an .io, .net or other domain? Is something like spoti.fy bad for SEO?

In my 10 years of experience, Top Level Domain (TLD) is not that much important today. for SEO. Especially if you are building an app and not a blog.
Look at notion.so for example. It is the TLD of Somalia!!
You should go with it.
Also you can always buy a better and expensive TLD later when you are making revenues with your app. You will be able to keep your SEO history by doing the redirections to the new website.
