Which open-source alternatives or project do you use or recommend - be it for design or dev, a SaaS or an installable file.
Also, it will be great if you can share the following:
- Any alternatives that you have tried before you decided to go ahead with the you have been using currently.
- The makers or creators if you know.
- What do you think of open-source projects in general - as a creator and as a user?
Well, I'm obviously biased, but GitLab is an amazing open source tool that provides a Git-repository manager with wiki, issue-tracking and CI/CD

+1 for gitlab its amazing and the UI is better than competitors IMO.
Signal Messenger, it's a great messenger app by itself, but its main feature is the security it provides.
Also, KeePass and Bitwarden for password management.
I've been using https://fishshell.com/ as an alternative to bash or zsh
I think open source is the best thing that happened to software development. I remember the days you had to pay hundreds for an IDE license.
