I created a mental health support service.
The price is very low for users, and there is also an option to use the first month for free, basically as a test. For people living in Ukraine, the service is completely free. Users from Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan are blocked.
Here is the strange part.
I started writing posts to promote the app in Ukrainian communities on Reddit. Instead of feedback about the product, I received a lot of personal attacks. Some people also left reviews on the App Store and Google Play — not about the app itself, but seemingly with the goal of discrediting me personally and damaging my reputation.
From my side, it does not look logical that real Ukrainian users, for whom the service is free, would spend time attacking me personally. However, many of these attacks are written in Ukrainian.
How would you recommend handling this problem?
I am especially interested in practical advice from founders who have dealt with coordinated harassment, fake reviews, or reputational attacks during early product growth.
