Starting a startup sounds exciting, right? You get an idea, build something cool, and launch it to the world. Simple? Not really.

The truth is, the journey is full of challenges no one warns you about. And if you’re a solo founder or an indie hacker, it gets even harder. Here are some of the biggest struggles that hit harder than expected:

1. Is This Idea Even Worth It?
   One of the worst feelings is spending months building something… only to realize no one actually wants it. Just because something sounds like a great idea doesn’t mean people will use it. Figuring this out early—before sinking too much time—is a game-changer.

2. Tech Decisions That Come Back to Haunt You
   Choosing the right tools and tech stack is tricky. Go too complex, and you slow yourself down. Go too simple, and you might have to redo everything later. There’s always that moment of doubt—Did I just make things harder for myself?

3. Building Is Easy. Getting Users? Not So Much.
   You can build the best product in the world, but if no one knows about it, does it even matter? Getting people to care is way harder than coding. Marketing, distribution, and growth—these aren’t just buzzwords. They’re survival skills.

   A lot of people (including me, at one point) fall into the trap of thinking, If people love the product, the money will follow. Spoiler alert: It doesn’t work that way. A startup needs a clear revenue plan, or else it’s just an expensive hobby.

   At first, it’s all exciting. The adrenaline, the late-night coding, the rush of launching something new. But then comes the exhaustion—handling everything alone, wearing too many hats, feeling like there’s always more to do. If you don’t set boundaries, burnout will hit before you even realize it.
