Why does this page suck?

"Add your skills and qualifications" shouldn't be there. Why should an employee add his resume to your site as compared to so many other sites out there? What is the benefit that your site provides that other sites don't?

A little design critique. (Keep in mind that this is all very much “in my opinion”).

The padding/space around some elements feels off. I think it would look better with more padding around the logo (smaller logo, or a larger nav bar). I’d also prefer to see padding under the “Start today” button, so that it doesn’t directly touch the white section below.

Same again for the headers under the “Job offer Career opportunity” image - it feels like there should be more white space between the image and the first heading.

Interesting concept! To me, it seems that the graphics and color scheme seems old. A good designer should be able to make it new and fresh.

I rebuilt the homepage based on feedback in this thread. It would be terrific if you would be willing to review again and provide any updated inputs.

One thing I notice is that it's strictly a web application and not a website. If I disable JS, it doesn't load, and you'll probably get penalized by the search engines. There are also some page speed issues that could use some improvement.

I wouldn't say it sucks. It's not a bad start, you just need to keep working on it.

Let's start with the headline. Land your dream job is a good benefit and it's smart to lead with that if you're targeting primarily the job seeker side with this page. The problem is more in the way it's stated. It's too generic to have the impact it should. What makes this better or unique? Can you get more specific? Can you tap into an emotion?

I like that you're speaking to pain points in the next section. Again, the issue is more about execution than the strategy. It's not enough to tell people something is frustrating. They know that. What you need to do is make them feel it. It is an emotion, after all. We feel emotions. Agitate it, then present your product as the solution.

And you need to do more to build credibility.

For instance, the claim of finding your dream job isn't really payed off anywhere. Why should people believe it? Personally, I would be skeptical because the entire solution seems to be based on a skills match. But there is a lot more that goes into a dream job than matching skills.

Finally, you need to think about potential objections or questions that could keep people from moving forward.

For instance, people who don't have many years of experience might not see the point in signing up. It the solution is a strict ranking based on that, they will actually look like a worse option.

From an SEO perspective:

• Needs a meta description
• Update the title tag to something like this: "Talentize | Land your dream job today"
• Add OG tags so has a nice preview when sharing on social
• Review your spacing on mobile. It could use some padding around the main container. Also the How it Works table doesn't show up nicely on mobile.
• Menu doesn't open on mobile.

• Quickly rewrote some text.

I know how much works goes into building a landing page. You got a v0 up! Crack a beer and celebrate that! Then get back to work on improving.

The design is irrelevant if the concept doesn't work. I'll skip major design notes since I'm not a designer, but I'd recommend doing what I do — copy what other designers are doing. Pull up your page and their page side-by-side. Use the sexy parts of their page as the inspiration for the un-sexy parts of your page. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?

Onto the concept.

Why would a job seeker or employer use Talentize instead of Indeed, ZipRecruiter, or the countless other established job boards? A job board is a marketplace, and if the supply side (job seekers) and demand side (employers) are already somewhere else, convincing anybody to come over and use your service is going to be SUPER hard.

I'm gonna guess that you have some technical skills. Have you considered applying your concept of skills-based filtering to these other establishing job boards? To quote your own copy:

"Résumé parsers don't work. Résumés don't include information employers need; detailed skill-related information."

If you know what info employers need, and you know how the job boards parse for that info in resumes, why not charge job seekers for a tool that will let them embed/properly format their skills into their resume BEFORE uploading to the job board?

If I'm a job seeker in a competitive market, I'm looking for any type of edge I can get. I'd pay $5-$25 to power up my resume and up my chances of being seen first by potential employers.

Trying that strategy lets you build on top of existing job boards and only serve 1 side of the marketplace, at least for now. Seems like a simpler, safer, and more focused place to start to me.

I'm only talking about the look here and not the concept.

From top to bottom:

• I would change the sign in and sign up buttons and make a light background for them instead of a dark background (might be just personal preference)
• Maybe make the hero section bigger? It feels weird for me to have such a small hero section. Make it the whole page!
• The first feature section looks ok for me
• How it works section: try to make the tables look nicer
• The rest seems good for me

Overall the website looks good and the illustrations are relevant on your website, good job!
