I’ve always lived in the space between logo, photography, and code. As an amateur photographer, I see the world in palettes—the way a sunset or a clean logo can define an entire brand’s 'vibe.' As a developer, I saw a frustrating gap: we take these beautiful visual inspirations and then kill the momentum by manually eyedropping pixels and typing out hex codes.
I built HexPickr to bridge that gap.
This project is my first deep dive into 'Vibe Coding'—leveraging the power of AI (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and specialized agents like Codex and Antigravity) to turn a creative instinct into a functional tool faster than traditional methods allowed. I wanted to build something that respects the modern gamut (OKLCH/OKLAB) while giving developers exactly what they need: production-ready Tailwind and CSS code, instantly.
HexPickr is more than a color picker; it’s a tribute to the logos and photos that inspire us, automated by the next generation of coding.
