Why I built Unsourced (and why I'm finally doing it in the open)

I'm Rene. Solo founder. For years I deliberately stayed off social media. Building in public felt like shouting, and I just wanted to create things that delivered genuine value.

Then AI search changed the ground under all of us. ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini started answering questions by citing some websites and ignoring others. I wanted to know where my tech publication stood. Was my content being referenced, or was it invisible?

I went looking for a tool that could tell me just that. Every one handed me a "visibility score." A number. No source, no proof, no way to check it. I felt cheated out of data I thought was my own. A score is a guess dressed up as an answer, in my book. I didn't want a guess. I wanted the actual receipt: the answer the AI gave, the source it named, and proof a real crawler fetched my page.

Nobody was building that. So I did.

Unsourced is the evidence layer for AI search. It shows which AI engines actually crawl your site, catches the bots spoofing names they don't own, and proves where you get cited. Not a vanity number. The receipt.

I'm early. Small. Proud. Honest about it. But I'm building in the open now, because the whole point of what I make is that claims should be checkable. Building quietly contradicted my own goal.
