For a long time I've been thinking about a web app to help me manage my recipes.
"But why build one of these," you might ask, "when there's like already a million out there?".
Well, you're right, there are a million recipe websites.
But, I was sick and tired of existing websites long pointless articles about how "when I was in Marrakech, I had the most amazing tagine, and here is how I imagine they made it". The bottom line is, I don't care. I don't mean to be harsh. I want the recipe, not a novella.
The key tenets of my recipe tool were:
No fluff - ingredients, cooking steps, a short (200 character) blurb, and a picture. That's all we need.
Collaborative - take any recipe you find on Recipeer, and fork it. If you've ever used Github, the concept will be familiar. If not, think of it as a remix/copy of a recipe you can customise.
So, I started building. Hoping to launch by end of 2024.
