After watching every AI detector ship the same broken pattern — a confidence score with no evidence and no way to argue with the answer — I built the opposite shape.
is-it.ai is a community-judged platform: you vote AI / Human / Mixed / Unsure on a post, then see the crowd's call and the verified label (if known) only after you commit. Comments unlock so you can debate the call. Your reputation scales with historical accuracy across hundreds of votes.
Vote-gate enforced server-side — consensus + verified label are stripped from network responses until you vote, so the browser can't peek. Anti-brigading via three rolling velocity windows (60s / 5m / 1h) + a coordination check before flags hit moderation. ~1,500 seeded posts across 12 categories (dating, LinkedIn, press, ads, voice clones, art, more).
Today: vote-first feed with reputation-weighted aggregation, daily challenge with streaks, dynamic share cards, per-user accuracy + leaderboards + a 28-badge reputation ladder.
Free at the core, forever. Long-term: premium analyst tools and an authenticity API for newsrooms.
What I'd love feedback on:
1. Which categories feel under-served? AI music + AI-generated code are next adds — what else?
2. The post-vote reveal — is it enough payoff to keep people voting?
3. The moderation posture — how would you organize this if you wanted to?

'The opposite shape' of traditional AI detectors is the perfect way to frame this . The gamification elements with streaks and badges sound highly addictive .
On the moderation posture : with a 28 badge reputation ladder , are you planning to offload moderation tho the community once uses hit a certain tier ? . or do you see moderation staying strictly internal via your rolling velocity windows for foreseeable future ?
Reading this, I kept coming back to the difference between discovering authenticity and discovering agreement.
The two can overlap surprisingly often.
Until they don't.
That's what I'd be most interested in watching as the platform grows.
