We go through the hustle and bustle of our daily tasks, oriented by the compass of deadlines and projections throughout the weeks and months of work. We live to plan and execute. As a result, our weeks go by so fast even though we endure the passage of days.. only to rest and recover during the weekends.
Those periods of incubation and retreat allow us to heal from the trenches of the office life. But why in this battle of life, should our well being be secondary to our finances, which engulf big chuncks of our quality of life, yet are not essential to the latter.
Choosing happiness is a lucid maneuver while you are on the highway to success. The bifurcation might take you out of your comfort zone but what is life without risk taking and venturing into the unknown to reclaim your kingdom? It is vain existence awaiting the call of death to fill up a coffin with ample regrets and remnants of potential buried deep under.
So… who are we, when we are not behind a desk in an open space with individuals with whom we spent more time than our family members or friends? Are we happier or more miserable as we enter these buildings that aren’t homes to us, yet are the custodians of our daily memories?
These multiple questions have been lingering inside of my migrainous head, lying on my bed on a sunday night, preparing for a tough week ahead of me.
On wellbeing, no compromises should be made as long as you are equiped with the solid knowledge of your own self : having clear goals, robust knowledge of your path and an intelligence of life trajectories. Self awareness is not only a superpower but it is a universally attainable goal and a legitimate asset to conquer one’s own earthly realm. It is the key to release and channel one’s potential.
Therefore choosing happiness is a moral imperative. Your own evolution through chosen and passionate endeavour is an active agent of the development of your environment, your society, your world in the broadest possible sense. What are you excited about? What makes you tick is the itch of your dreams trapped inside your thoracic cage.. You have to let them out, materialize them through concrete actions and unyielding faith.
You are a manifestation of ethereal energy, that divine sap coursing through your veins, filling up your beating heart with passion and yearnings. Your work should be an extension of your being and your workplace, a temple of devotion to the world that you are trying to build with love and passion. You are not to be present where your love is absent.
Know thy self, choose happiness, love your work, i will be heading on my mundane days with these injonctions in mind, resolute to make them sacred.
Prayer helps, meditation soothes, exercise stimulates, reading increases clarity of thoughts. I do all of it, with different intensity and frequency but i try to stick to those while i am on this journey of self discovery.. that will ever end.
