Why should you own your content and community?

When we're talking to creators it's a pretty common perspective that the platform you grow on is the one you live on. It's to the point creators distinguish themselves by the platform they do work on, and it usually takes an algorithmic change or scandal to put into perspective the risks of that approach.

We took a look at some of the issues with this model, and how creators can look at ownership of their content and brand as not in competition with their existing distribution model, but an additional source of security and income.
