Why you shouldn't worry too much about AI watermarks

Everyone's talking about them right now: Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT. People worry their work will get marked as AI-made.

I think we're looking at this the wrong way.

We've always used tools to make us better. Photoshop for designers. Spellcheck and Grammarly for writers. Now AI for coding and content. The tool doesn't own the work. The person does.

If I come up with the idea, solve a real problem, build the product, and take responsibility for the result, AI is helping me execute the vision. I'm not hiding that; I disclose it. I tell people when AI helped with grammar, editing, or generating a first draft, because transparency builds more trust than pretending it didn't happen.

A watermark doesn't tell you who had the idea, who put in the months of work, or who invested their own money to make it real. It just tells you AI was somewhere in the process. That's the reality for how millions of people actually work now.

Don't let a watermark define your work. Let the value you create define it.
