Why you won't find a technical co-founder

I totally resonate with the idea that some newbies are scouting for CTOs in all the wrong spots. If you're rocking your 20s, your university might be teeming with potential tech founders. Employed? Why not tap into the talent pool you currently work with or have in the past? That's exactly how I met my first tech co-founder. But a heads-up: don't try to find a technical founder with a business mindset and leadership abilities.

But let's be honest, it's hard for technical founders to find a business founder, too - a person or team who knows how to market and sell the product you've developed. I recently had such a story happen to me: a technical guy came to my husband with a product he had been developing for over a year but needed to know how to market it. When we tested it on ourselves, we realized that it was just a neuro-exciting startup, but it should be sold to other niches and X100 more expensive. So we were happy to join the project.

Life throws curveballs, but the key is never to stop searching. The right match could be just around the corner.
