Would you pay a monthly fee to analyse your customer reviews ?

Hey everyone,

I recently joined Indie Hackers and this is going to be my first post. Everyone has some kind of thing going on here which I is great. I was wondering how many customer reviews/feedback you guys get per month and if you would be willing to pay a small monthly fee to get them analyzed and extract actionable intelligence from it?

Any response is appreciated. Thanks.

Honestly, I would never trust a 3rd party to draw actionable insights from feedback. If the insight is "I want feature X" then I don't need help understanding that. If it's more nuanced then the solution is probably not going to be something you can arrive at without fundamentally understanding my product and thinking. Founders need to be doing this kind of work themself.

      Thanks for your output.

Many teams have hooks into their communication platforms (e.g. Slack) that post reviews to channels as they come in. These are passively read by most of the team, so it's questionable what insights an automated solution could provide that aren't provided by reading the review. Additionally, the mobile app stores have rudimentary analytics built in.

A third party product would need to create value above and beyond what the solutions described above provide.

Thanks for your feedback. I think my primary concern was when people have tons of review it might be a bit tricky for the team to go through all of them.

I think this might work for large companies who have a lot of reviews and feedback! But smaller indies, their problem might be getting good reviews.

If you are interested in this and are good at talking to customers and able to carry out good customer research, I would start with actually getting the reviews in the first place.

So carrying out jobs to be done interviews, settings up feedback onboarding emails, in-app messages, product roadmap etc.

Then another extra service you could offer, if you did your job well, is to analyse the ton of data you collected.
