You Can't Get Harassed In The Metaverse

Even in the Metaverse there is social distancing.

Facebook just said that each person's avatar will have a 2ft - 4 ft barrier between them. The feature is being dubbed "Personal boundaries" - and Facebook isn't joking about it either.

I guess I can understand why they did it. They are worried that people could virtually violate other people's "safe space."

Ah, I miss the gold old days of the internet. When we could all call each others names, treat one another horribly, and not worry about it.

I'm just kidding. But I do think I developed a tough skin after having played in Halo 3 public lobbies back in the day. Kids now can't imagine the horrible words that were exchanged there...

I saw a comment on reddit or something regarding this.

An article was released about someone being sexually harassed in VR. Someone commented "Well that person can just turn on their "safe space" bubble and then nobody can harass them".

Then, the comment below said "But, people shouldn't have to be responsible to stop their own harassment".

    I actually facepalmed 🤦‍♂️

Thought the same thing. The world we live in today needs to get a grip. The online and physical world aren't the same thing and the behaviors aren't the same either.
