50x Smarter

Hey everyone,

Here is a quick update on the Uneed 50x Smarter launch, though a little while after the fact. It took me a while to write this.

Anyway, the night before my Uneed launch was a mess. I decided—way too late—to switch from Gumroad to Payhip. That meant scrambling to fill out forms, troubleshoot issues, and track down missing images. By 10 p.m., though, it was done. My first launch was ready to roll.

I shut my laptop, watched some mindless TV, and tried to sleep. Didn’t work—my brain was wired, and I saw 3:30 a.m. roll by.

Next morning, I was a little slow getting up but still caught the Uneed countdown. 50x Smarter wasn’t buried on the page, and no one had upvotes yet. Felt like a fair shot. I gave myself an upvote (yeah, I know), and it jumped to first. Didn’t last long—others started climbing fast.

Teaming Up on Launch Day

While I was pinging friends on social media for support, I saw Bluesky Inbox launching too. I’ve been using that Bluesky keyword tracker since day one, so I tossed it an upvote. Then I went a step further and plugged it myself. Dumb move for a “competitor”? Maybe, but I dig the app and get along with Nick, its founder. Felt right.

Nick returned the favor, posting about both our launches. That kicked things into gear.

The Reciprocity Boost

Neither of us expected what happened next. We started climbing the Uneed ranks, swapping first place back and forth. Way better than sitting at the bottom, and doing it alongside someone else made it even cooler.

By 11 p.m., Bluesky Inbox had a slight lead. I posted a final update on X and Bluesky and crashed hard—slept like a log. Next day, I opened my laptop expecting to see a ton of other apps ahead. Nope. I was still runner-up, and Nick was killing it at the top with a bunch of votes.

The Real Win

Here’s the takeaway: waiting too long to launch was a mistake. I’d been stalling, worried no one would care about 50x Smarter. That fear was nonsense. Sure, if I’d launched earlier, this exact story wouldn’t have played out—but the real lesson? Just ship it. And honestly, teaming up with someone beats going it alone. I kinda knew that, but now it’s crystal clear.

After realizing that founders need a more simple way to curb their stress and shutting down the Curbn Community, I started working on the 50x Smarter Program.

It's an online courses program that focuses on enhancing peoples skills in everyday tools like Gmail, Outlook and Mac Mail and Reminder apps.

It does NOT use AI, but it is not just another online course. It will feature an online intake (either in person or by means of a survey) to asses the subjects they will most benefit from. Customers will then be directed to the appropriate lessons.
