Animiso
Keep clients updated without the email chaos
Hey IH fam,
Quick update on Animiso (client update tool for freelancers).
**Current numbers:**
- 18 beta users actively testing
- 4.2 hours avg saved per user/week
- 89% would recommend
- 0 "any update?" client texts since they started using it
**The backstory:**
I'm a freelance dev. Got tired of clients texting "any update?" at 11 PM even though I'd sent them updates that morning.
Realized I was spending 6+ hours/week just managing client communication overhead:
- Re-explaining status
- Re-sending files
- Digging through email threads
- Repeating myself across WhatsApp/Slack/Email
Built Animiso to fix this: Give clients one link where they see all updates. No login required for them.
**What I learned from 18 beta users:**
1. **The pain is universal** - Every single freelancer I talked to has this problem. It's not niche.
2. **Clients don't want to download another app** - The "no login required" feature is the killer differentiator. Clients click a link and see everything. That's it.
3. **Time saved compounds** - Users report 4+ hours saved per week. That's 16 hours/month. Almost $2,000 in billable time for a $50/hr freelancer.
4. **Retention is easier than acquisition** - Freelancers who use it once keep using it. The problem is painful enough that the solution is sticky.
**What's next:**
Opening 25 more beta spots next week. If you're a freelancer (or know one), would love feedback: animiso.fun
**Question for IH:**
- How would you price this? Thinking $6/mo for unlimited projects.
- Would you go freemium or free trial?
- Any distribution channels I'm missing?
Building in public. Happy to answer any questions.

## The Conversion Crisis
Day 4 of launching Animiso.
**The problem:**
- 847 landing page visitors
- 0 signups
- 0% conversion rate
Something was fundamentally broken.
## What I Changed (The Framework)
### Before: Feature-Focused
Hero: "Keep clients updated without the email chaos"
Subhead: "Share one link. Post updates. Keep clients happy."
CTA: "Start Your First Project"
**Conversion rate: 0%**
### After: Outcome-Focused
Hero: "Stop the 'any update?' texts. Share one link. Done."
Subhead: "Freelancers waste 5+ hours/week on client status updates. Animiso gives you 5 hours back."
CTA: "Try Free - No Credit Card"
**Conversion rate: Testing now (will update)**
## The Psychology Behind Each Change
### 1. Hero Copy
❌ "Keep clients updated"
→ Vague. Everyone thinks they're already doing this.
✅ "Stop the 'any update?' texts"
→ Specific pain point. Immediately relatable.
### 2. Value Proposition
❌ "Without the email chaos"
→ Abstract. What chaos?
✅ "5+ hours wasted every week"
→ Concrete. Quantifiable loss.
### 3. Call-to-Action
❌ "Start Your First Project"
→ Unclear commitment. What am I starting?
✅ "Try Free - No Credit Card"
→ Zero risk. Clear action.
### 4. Social Proof
Added:
• "Join 12 freelancers who tried Animiso this week"
• "7/50 early adopter spots claimed"
• "Saved 892 hours collectively"
Even with small numbers, creating perception of momentum.
### 5. Urgency
Added:
• Limited early adopter pricing ($1.50/month forever)
• Expiration timer (48 hours for this offer)
• Scarcity (50 spots total)

## What I'm A/B Testing Next
1. **Hero variation:**
- A: "Stop the 'any update?' texts"
- B: "Get back 5 hours every week"
2. **CTA button:**
- A: "Try Free - No Credit Card"
- B: "Start Saving Time Today"
3. **Pricing anchor:**
- A: Show $3/month with $1.50 discount
- B: Show $1.50/month as "locked in" price
## The Offer (IH Exclusive)
First 15 IH members who try it:
→ Code LAUNCH50 $1.50/month forever
→ Personal onboarding call (15 min)
→ Priority feature requests
→ Founding member badge
Valid for 72 hours only.
After that, this price disappears.
## My Questions for IH
1. **What else would you test?**
Where are the obvious conversion leaks?
2. **Is my social proof too weak?**
"12 freelancers" feels small. Should I hide it until bigger?
3. **Pricing strategy:**
Better to show $3 with discount? Or just $1 locked in?
4. **For those who've optimized landing pages:**
What was your biggest conversion lever?
## What I'm Learning
Conversion optimization isn't guesswork.
It's psychology + clarity + removing friction.
Every element either builds trust or creates doubt.
My old page created doubt.
New page (hopefully) builds trust.

I'll update this thread tomorrow with conversion data.
If the new page doesn't hit 3% conversion, I'll rewrite again.
Feedback welcome 🙏

I'm 17. Spent 3 months building Animiso. Launched 3 days ago.
Current stats:
- Revenue: $0
- Users: 0
- Self-doubt: ∞
I need help. Specifically: Am I doing this wrong?
## What I Built
Animiso helps freelancers stop the "any update?" text/email chaos.
Problem:
- Clients text "any update?" at random times
- Freelancers spend hours writing status emails
- 30-min calls to show one screenshot
Solution:
- Freelancer gets a unique link
- Posts updates in 30 seconds (screenshot + note)
- Client sees timeline (no login needed)
Pricing: $3/month (free plan: 1 project)
Live: animiso.fun
## What I've Tried (Day 1-3)
✅ Posted on LinkedIn (800 impressions, 2 clicks)
✅ Posted on Twitter (100 impressions, 0 clicks)
✅ Sent ~10 DMs (2 responses, 0 signups)
❌ Result: 0 users
## Where I Think I'm Going Wrong
1. **Wrong audience?**
Maybe freelancers don't actually have this problem?
(But I HAD this problem as a freelancer...)
2. **Wrong messaging?**
Am I explaining it badly?
3. **Wrong channels?**
Should I be somewhere else?
4. **Wrong pricing?**
Is $3/month too much? Too little?
5. **Wrong product?**
Does this even solve a real problem?
## What I'm Thinking of Trying Next
- Send 100 DMs instead of 10
- Make a demo video
- Drop the price to $1/month
- Offer free personal onboarding
- Give up and try a different idea
## My Ask
Roast me. Seriously.
Tell me:
- What am I doing wrong?
- What would YOU do differently?
- Is this idea even worth pursuing?
I'm 17. I don't know what I'm doing. I need guidance from people who've been here.
Code LAUNCH50 = $1.50/month forever if you want to try it and give feedback.
Be brutally honest. I can take it.

Launched Animiso yesterday - a tool to help freelancers stop the "any update?" text madness.
Current stats:
💰 Revenue: $0
👥 Users: 0
📊 Hope: Fading
☕ Coffee: Infinite
The tool: Share one link with clients, post updates in 30 seconds, they see everything without logging in.
Honestly just trying to validate if this is a real problem or if I'm the only one who hates status calls.
https://animiso.fun
Looking for 10 brave souls to try it and give brutal feedback.
LAUNCH50 gets 50% off Pro forever.
Roast me. I can take it.

Congrats on the launch, looks solid. How are you currently thinking about acquiring early users and gathering feedback?

The 'any update?' texts are the worst. I've definitely been guilty of sending them too. Tried the tool and the real-time updates without login is pretty slick. One thing though, how do you prevent clients from just refreshing the page constantly instead of texting you? Feels like it might just shift the anxiety somewhere else.

That’s a fair concern — and you’re right, you can’t fully eliminate client anxiety.
The goal isn’t to stop them from checking, it’s to change how they check.
Right now anxiety leaks into interruptions: “any update?” messages, calls, follow-ups. With a public timeline, that anxiety gets redirected into a passive place where they see progress instead of asking for it.
Two things help in practice:
Updates are timestamped and chronological, so clients learn “nothing new = nothing new,” not “maybe they forgot me.”
Many freelancers set expectations like “I post updates every X days,” which trains clients to stop refreshing constantly.
It doesn’t magically fix anxious clients — but it removes the need to interrupt the builder, which is the real win.

hey indie hackers!
been lurking here for a while. finally shipping something.
## what i built
animiso - helps freelancers share project updates with clients without email chaos
## the problem
every freelancer knows this:
client: "any update?"
you: *stops everything, writes email*
client: *doesn't read it*
repeat weekly
i got tired of this.
## the solution
share one link → post updates → client sees timeline
no login needed on client side. no password. no teaching.
## how it works
1. create a project, get a link (animiso.fun/p/project-name)
2. post updates when you ship stuff
3. share link once with client
4. they check anytime
5. never ask "any update?" again
## tech stack
- cloudflare workers
- d1 database
- vanilla js
- lemon squeezy for payments
took 3 months to build
## pricing
free for 1 project
$3/month for unlimited
not trying to get rich. just solving my own problem.
## launching today
just went live
early stats:
- [fill in your actual numbers] signups
- [fill in] paying customers
## what i need help with
1. is $3/month too cheap?
2. what features would make you pay?
3. how do i get freelancers to find this?
## try it
https://animiso.fun
be honest. i can take it.
thanks for being an awesome community 🙏
