Astrae
Premium Next.js templates for rapid website launches
Hey Indie Hackers,
I wanted to share some insights from my journey of building Astrae Design—a growing library of Next.js website templates designed to speed up development and let you focus on your unique features.
What I Learned Along the Way
Plan for Scalability:
I quickly realized that leveraging Next.js's modern features (like incremental static regeneration and server-side rendering) early on is key to building a scalable template system.
This approach has helped me ensure that even as projects grow, performance and maintainability remain front and center.
Developer Experience Matters:
Clear documentation, thoughtful defaults, and an emphasis on easy customization can dramatically reduce friction for developers.
I invested time in crafting intuitive setups and providing guidance to make sure users can adapt the templates to their needs without a steep learning curve.
Striking a Balance Between Flexibility and Consistency:
While it’s tempting to over-customize, I found that a consistent design system—using tools like Tailwind CSS—ensures that updates and scaling remain manageable.
This consistency not only speeds up development but also makes it easier to maintain the codebase over time.
Feedback is Gold:
Even in early stages, I’ve been in touch with a few users who helped shape the product. Their feedback has been invaluable in guiding improvements and setting priorities for future updates.
About
I built Astrae to save developers time by eliminating repetitive setups—offering a library of modern Next.js templates so you can focus on innovation instead of boilerplate.
