So... I made a rookie mistake yesterday. I launched BeamGo (AI video generation API) on ProductHunt with literally zero users. Not 5, not 10. Zero.

Result? Barely any traction. Post buried. One shot wasted. Why did I do this? Honestly, I got impatient. After 8 months learning to code and building this thing from scratch (I was a construction worker before), I just wanted to GET IT OUT THERE.

I thought launching = success. I was wrong. What I should have done: - Build to 20-30 users first through Reddit, IH, Twitter - Gather some testimonials/feedback - THEN use ProductHunt as amplification, not validation.

What I'm doing now: - Warming up Reddit account (10-14 days of commenting) - Posting consistently on Twitter (build in public) - Weekly updates here on IH - Treating PH as a lesson, not a failure.

Current state: 2 organic signups, $0 MRR, but the product works solid (text/image/sound to video API).

For other solo founders: Don't make my mistake. PH is a one-shot deal. Use it when you have momentum, not to create it. Anyone else launch too early somewhere? What did you learn?

I'm Deck. 12 months ago, I was unemployed, coming from construction, and desperate to break into tech.

🏗️ THE REAL STORY: I've always loved tech and AI, but never had the skills to build anything. When I lost my job, I thought: "F*ck it, I'm learning to code." Started with a sketchy idea: build a scraping API. A bit "voyou" (French for rebellious 😅), but I wanted something simple to learn with.

While browsing RapidAPI for inspiration, I noticed something: - Tons of image APIs - Tons of text APIs - Only ONE real AI video generation API - And it sucked 💡 LIGHTBULB MOMENT: "Wait... there's a massive gap here. What if I pivot to AI video?"

So I did. Spent 8 months and a lots of hours..: - Learning Python (never coded before) - Learning JavaScript, React, FastAPI - Building the entire infrastructure - Crashing GPU pods repeatedly - Rebuilding the architecture 3 times - Going from "scraping voyou" to legit AI SaaS The ironic part? I built the whole thing FOR RapidAPI from day 1, but only listed it there at the very end. 😅

📹 WHAT IT BECAME: BeamGo - AI video generation API: - Text → Video - Images → Video (e-commerce product demos) - Audio → Video Via REST API or web dashboard. 📊 CURRENT STATUS: - Product: ✅ Live, stable, working - Listed on RapidAPI: ✅ Finally done!

- Users: 0 - Revenue: $0 MRR - Motivation: Through the roof (necessity is the mother of invention) my strenght is that I'm methodical as hell (construction background) - I'm hungry (came from unemployment) - I found a real market gap (browsing as a customer) - I already spent 8 months building something that works
