April 4, 2026 Week 1 learnings: UX overhaul shipped

What I learned:

— Users didn't understand the app in the first 3 seconds

— Voice input stopped automatically (browser default) → users lost trust

— Pro/Perso buttons always visible = cognitive load for new users

What I shipped this week:

— Onboarding carousel (3 slides, swipeable, shows exactly what to do)

— Push-to-talk mic (WhatsApp style — hold to record)

— Rotating suggestions under input instead of static buttons

— Receipt attachments (Pro) — photo or PDF per transaction

— Email export via Resend (PDF + CSV + receipts)

— Multi-country VAT (10 countries including USA)

— FR/EN auto-detection based on country

5 real users. Learning fast.

March 30, 2026 Beta launched — built in 48h, first real users

Just shipped Budgia after 48 hours of building.

The problem: I kept abandoning every expense app

after a week. Too much friction.

Open app. Pick category. Select project. Type amount. Repeat.

The solution: you just speak or type

"Restaurant 45€ client Smith"

→ logged, categorized, VAT calculated automatically.

No forms. No dropdowns.

Currently: first real users, France & Belgium focus.

39 lifetime beta spots left.

Feedbacks welcome.

March 29, 2026 Built a zero-friction expense app for freelancers — 50 lifetime beta spots

I kept abandoning every expense app after a week. Not because I didn't care — but because logging felt like work. So I built Budgia. You just say: "Restaurant 45€ client Smith" It figures out amount, category, client, pro/personal. No forms. No dropdowns.

Currently in beta — 50 lifetime free spots. Would love feedback from this community.

Currently in French (France & Belgium focus). English version planned based on demand. If you're a French-speaking freelancer — this is built for you. If not — happy to hear if this resonates anyway.

About

I built Budgia because I kept abandoning every expense app after a week. Not because I didn't care about tracking money — but because logging every expense felt like work. Open app. Pick category. Select project. Ty
