January 27, 2026 I built a simple tool to help small businesses create AI policies

I work in tech and I see AI used everywhere now.

People use ChatGPT, Copilot, and other AI tools every day at work.
But when I asked a simple question — “Do we have any rules for AI use?” — the answer was usually no.

Not because people are careless.
But because writing AI policies is confusing.

Consultants are expensive.
Enterprise tools are made for big companies.
Free templates are too generic and hard to trust.

As a small team or growing business, you are stuck in the middle.

So I decided to build BuildAIPolicy.

The idea was simple:

  • Ask a few clear questions

  • Ask for Region

  • Understand how a company actually uses AI

  • Generate ready-to-adopt AI policies and risk documents

  • Keep it practical, not legal or enterprise-heavy

I wanted something that a small or mid-sized organization could use immediately, without long contracts or long meetings.

This is not legal advice.
It’s a starting point — something clear, usable, and honest.

I just launched it recently and now I’m learning:

  • Will people trust it?

  • Will they pay for it?

  • What am I missing?

If you are building in AI governance, compliance, or internal tools, I’d love your feedback.

Here’s the product: https://www.buildaipolicy.com

Congrats on the launch, looks solid. How are you currently thinking about acquiring early users and gathering feedback?

This is a real gap you're filling. Most SMBs I talk to have zero written AI policies — they adopt tools fast but governance lags behind. The EU AI Act is making this urgent for any company operating in or selling to Europe. By August 2026, businesses using AI in hiring, support, or decision-making need documented policies and risk classifications. The challenge isn't writing the policy — it's knowing which AI systems you even have running across departments. Most companies discover 3-5x more than they thought once they actually inventory. Your approach of asking clear questions first is smart. That discovery step is where most compa
