February 13, 2025 From an Excel Sheet to 1st Place – What I Learned Building Debtfreeo

💡 The Idea That Started It All

Like many, I used to track my debts in an Excel spreadsheet—manually updating balances, due dates, and payments. It worked… until it didn’t. I missed a payment, paid unnecessary interest, and realized there had to be a better way.

That’s when I had the “What if?” moment:
What if I turned this into a tool that helps others, not just me?

🛠️ From Concept to Reality in 41 Days

Building Debtfreeo wasn’t something I planned for years. I gave myself a challenge:
👉 Build the first working version in just 41 days
👉 Use no-code tools (since I’m not a full-time developer)
👉 Make it simple, effective, and actually help people pay off debt faster

I used Lovable to bring the idea to life, working only on weekends and spare moments. No crazy startup grind, no quitting my job—just consistent effort.

🎯 Lessons From the Build

🔹 Small steps add up – I didn’t overthink it. I focused on launching a simple version first and improving it over time.
🔹 User feedback is gold – What I thought was important wasn’t always what users needed. Their insights helped shape Debtfreeo.
🔹 Building in public gets traction – Sharing my journey, rather than just “launching,” made people curious and invested in the process.

🏆 The Unexpected Outcome

Debtfreeo won 1st place in Lovable Launched’s first week, competing against 250+ products! 🎉 It was proof that solving real problems resonates.

📌 What’s Next?

The journey doesn’t stop here. I’m working on refining features and getting more users involved.

February 12, 2025 Are You Tracking Your Debt... or Is It Tracking You?

Debt has a sneaky way of controlling our lives if we’re not careful.

👉 A missed payment here, a late fee there—suddenly, you’re paying more than you planned.
👉 Credit cards, BNPL, loans—it’s easy to lose track when payments are scattered across different accounts.
👉 Financial stress creeps in, not just from owing money, but from not knowing exactly where you stand.

💡 Taking control starts with clarity.

✅ Tips to Stay Ahead of Your Debt:

1️⃣ List all your debts – Know exactly what you owe.
2️⃣ Set payment reminders – Avoid late fees & penalties.
3️⃣ Prioritize high-interest debt – Tackle the costly ones first.
4️⃣ Use the avalanche or snowball method – Find a strategy that works best for you.
5️⃣ Track everything in one place – Don’t rely on memory; get organized.

That’s why I built Debtfreeo.com—a simple, no-code platform designed to help you:
Track all your debts in one place
Set smart reminders so you never miss a payment
Use repayment strategies to save money on interest
Reduce stress by knowing exactly where you stand financially

📊 The first step to financial freedom is visibility. Are you keeping track of your payments, or are they controlling you?

February 8, 2025 Take control of your debt, save more, stress less. 🚀 #DebtFreeo

Hello all,
I wanted to share something I’ve been working on my spare time recently.

🧐 The Problem

Managing debt can be overwhelming. Tracking payments, juggling multiple accounts, and staying on top of due dates can feel like an impossible task. Financial institutions use fancy software to calculate credibility and maximize their profits—so why don’t we have a tool that gives us the edge?

On top of that, the rise of Buy Now, Pay Later options has made it easier than ever to fall into traps by missing due dates, leading to unnecessary interest piling up. What if there was a simple way to see all your accounts in one place, track payments, and make informed decisions to pay back faster—saving you money and stress?

🔧 My Solution

That’s why I created Debtfreeo.com, a platform designed to make debt management simple, actionable, and stress-free. With Debtfreeo, you can:

✅ Track all your debts in one place

✅ Get personalized repayment strategies

✅ Stay on top of payment dates with reminders

✅ Save interest and regain control of your finances

I built this alone using a no-code tool called Lovable, inspired by my own struggles and the need for an effective, user-focused solution. This is my way of empowering individuals to take charge of their financial futures.

💡 Where We’re At Now

DebtFreeo is currently live on launched.lovable.app. It would mean the world to me if you could take a moment to check it out, vote, and support this project. Your feedback and encouragement go a long way!

If this sounds like something that could help you or someone you know, feel free to check it out. If you have any questions, thoughts, or feedback, drop a comment or send me a message. I’d love to hear from you! 🙌

Do you plan to integrate it with budgeting apps like Budgetwise and YNAB?

Other tools for subscription cancellation help with debt management, too. I was just wondering about daily users who would use it unless you think this would be more for businesses that allow their clients to track debt.

This is really cool. I know a lot of our clients will love this. We actually had a client the other day that had a collections on their credit report just because they didn't realize they weren't paying their gym membership.

That’s exactly the kind of problem Debtfreeo is built to solve! 🚀 Many people fall into debt traps simply due to missed payments, not financial irresponsibility. With automated tracking and reminders, they can stay on top of every payment and avoid unnecessary collections. Would love to hear more about your clients' pain points—maybe Debtfreeo can help! 😊💡
