Workflow documentation and automation that is fun

December 8, 2021 Refactoring Amplify to terraform

Amplify turned out to be not the best choice to settle on as backend service:

  • vendor lock-in for aws
  • no practical pipeline first approach
  • many features are bleeding edge and you will spend frustrating hours on bugs that are not apparent
  • Cloudformation

I found a guy on upwork that refactors the whole infrastructure in terraform for 100$ and it looks shiny!

If you need tips on that hmu

I am always surprised how so many people seem to like the pure AWS. Despite the reliability I find it such a bad developer experience.

But I don't see how terraform is a replacement for Amplify?!

About

As a consultant i had all sorts of onboarding experiences. The best ones i had when the documentation was fun to read. I put some of my experiences into this tool and hope it helps more people around here
