July 21, 2019 Deployed a 10 sensor network in a village

Using GreenSense V2.0 and Yuktix Solar-powered gateway, we deployed a network on 10 sensors in a village in AP, India. These GreenSense nodes are battery-powered optimized nodes with Soil moisture, air temperature, and air humidity sensors. Data is pushed every 10 minutes from these nodes to a central gateway which is then pushed to Yuktix cloud and shared with the user using the GreenSense dashboard. Analyzed and filter data is then converted into actionable data ( weather prediction, disease prediction ) and provided to the user which in our current deployment was an NGO who work closely with farmers and provide curated advisories to them.

    Very nice! Can you give me an idea of the cost of the solar-powered weather station? I plan to add monitoring from such components to http://edible.estate.

      For the yard, I think adding Temperature, Humidity and Soil moisture would be better both feature-wise and cost-wise. If you need any help, please feel free to reach out. We can provide the REST API which you can use to integrate data to your dashboard.
      Meanwhile interesting concept. I think eden at some point of time was also working on the gardening space, not sure what they are doing now.

      We are currently focusing on Agriculture. We have a product for #Smart cities - Yuktix OAQMS ( Outdoor Air Quality Monitoring Station ) with 10 sensor variant.

      Hi, you will need only one sensor node with Temperature, Humidity, Rainfall, Pressure and soil moisture sensor.
      These sensors collect real-time data from the field, use the same data to correct the weather prediction, provide disease prediction. Soil moisture data can be used for providing an irrigation schedule. As a part of the GreenSense dashboard, we also provide NDVI imaging, but for 5-acre land, it might not work.

July 14, 2019 Version 3 of GreenSense PCB

Yuktix GreenSense is a battery-powered ( low power ) wireless device originally developed only to support one kind of wireless communication (Sub_Ghz). The first version has an on-board battery and a lot of unnecessary and more of general-purpose PCB. The second version has both DC and battery-powered power processing unit. Although both the versions were highly optimized for low power consumption ( average power consumption was around 22 uA during sleep mode and a 2.2 Ah battery could support for more than 1 year of operation with 10-minute data push interval ) and it requires specific hardware to cut the power of some of the sensors.

This limitation made us think to add a solar charging unit and in our third version, we decided using the SSC ( single-cell solar charger ). The third version schematic design is complete, PCB rendering is done ( CAD design ) and we are in the process of printing and assembling the unit. We will share more details and specifications soon.

August 18, 2018 GreenSense PCB V2.0

GreenSense PCB V2.0 was developed to provide a modular way to add sensor card as per requirement. We moved the battery out of the PCB to reduce the board size ( as this was developed keeping one of our enclosure in mind, but now we realized it was a bad decision ).
V2.0 provides us facility to power the board using either 5V or 12V or 3.7V LiPo battery ( for power-optimized use cases ).

Collecting data from remote area's from multiple places require battery-powered wireless sensor networks and we need hyperlocal data from farms in real time. This was the main reason for developing Yuktix GreenSense
