October 24, 2025 Indie10k: Why Consistent Practice Beats Perfect Strategy

Everyone’s chasing the perfect growth strategy.
The perfect funnel.
The perfect launch plan.

But here’s the truth I’ve learned building Indie10k: consistency compounds faster than genius.

You don’t need the perfect plan.
You need a repeatable practice.

When I first started Indie10k, I obsessed over frameworks — retention loops, activation funnels, PLG metrics.
I thought once I found the “right” strategy, growth would click.

It didn’t.

What finally worked?
Doing one rep every day — shipping, sharing, improving — even when no one noticed.

That daily consistency created data.
That data created clarity.
That clarity made the next move obvious.

Now I see it like this:

  • Strategy is a compass — it points the direction.

  • Practice is the engine — it actually gets you there.

You can’t steer a car that isn’t moving.

So if you’re stuck debating which playbook to follow, stop.
Pick one small action you can repeat tomorrow.
Then do it again the next day.
That’s your real growth loop.

💪 Rep

Today, forget “perfect strategy.” Just practice showing up once — ship a post, improve a landing page, or talk to one user. That’s the rep that compounds.

Keep Going!

October 23, 2025 Indie10k: Momentum Beats Motivation

I used to wait for motivation.
That spark, that burst of energy that made me want to ship something.

But here’s what I’ve learned building Indie10k: motivation is fickle.
Momentum is the real compound interest.

When I ship one small rep — fix a bug, improve a headline, reply to one user — I feel a small win.
That win stacks. Tomorrow’s rep gets easier.
Soon, I’m not chasing motivation; I’m riding momentum.

The days I feel unmotivated?
Those are actually the most important ones.
Because when I ship anyway, I keep the streak alive.
Momentum doesn’t care how I feel — it just wants motion.

Indie10k is built around that idea.
You don’t need a big plan, a fancy dashboard, or a productivity ritual.
You just need one rep a day.
The rest compounds.

Rep

Ship one thing today — no matter how small.
Momentum will take care of tomorrow.

Keep Going!

October 23, 2025 🧱 Build Story: Keep Going!

😩 The Pain

Every indie dev starts with fire.
New idea. Fresh repo. 48 tabs open.
For a week or two — pure momentum.

Then… it fades.

You miss a day.
Then two.
Then you stop opening the project at all.
Not because you don’t care — but because you lost direction.
No feedback, no users, no sense of progress.
Just silence and guilt.

That’s the quiet death of most side projects.
Not failure. Not burnout.
Just stopping.

💡 The Solution

That’s why I built Indie10k — a growth gym for indie developers.

It’s not another tracker, not a productivity app.
It’s a habit system that helps you keep going — one small rep at a time.

Here’s how it solves the problem:

  • One Rep a Day: Instead of endless tasks, you do one clear, focused move forward.

  • Streaks that make sense: Not “daily grind” streaks — momentum streaks that flex with your real life.

  • Evidence feed: You see your progress pile up, visually. That’s your feedback loop.

Each feature answers one pain:

“I don’t know what to do next.” → You get one rep.
“I feel like I’m not improving.” → You see your streak grow.
“I forgot why I started.” → You read your past wins.

It’s not about motivation.
It’s about momentum that survives low days.

❤️ Why It Matters

Most indie devs don’t fail because of the market.
They fail because they stop showing up.

Indie10k exists to fix that.
To turn “I’ll try again someday” into “I did one thing today.”

Because that one thing compounds — into feedback, users, revenue.
That’s how you reach $10k MRR:
Not in one leap, but in ten thousand tiny reps.

🚀 The Takeaway

If you’re stuck between building and quitting,
if you’ve lost your streak,
if you feel invisible —

Here’s your reminder:
Momentum fades. Discipline doesn’t.
Keep Going.

October 21, 2025 🧱 Build Log: Changed the Indie10k Slogan to “Keep Going!”

Keep Going!

It’s more than a slogan — it’s a mindset.

For every indie dev who’s shipped something, only to stall at

  • 23 users and no feedback,

  • 5 DMs and no replies,

  • 1 failed launch and zero MRR…

this is the moment where most stop.
But the real difference between 0 → 1, 1 → 10, and 10 → 100 users isn’t luck or timing.
It’s persistence.
Momentum.
The ability to keep going — even when you’re not sure if it’s working.

That’s why “Keep Going!” now sits at the heart of Indie10k.
It’s short enough to fit on a sticker.
Simple enough to remember when you’re tired.
And strong enough to pull you through the next rep.

What it means for Indie10k

Our mission has always been to help indie devs reach $10k MRR — not through grand plans, but daily reps.
Now, everything we design will orbit this phrase:

  • Streaks = proof you kept going

  • Reps = action you took

  • Evidence = progress you can see

  • Stories = inspiration to keep others going

My takeaway

I wanted a slogan that feels like a push from a friend, not a slogan from a brand.
A simple reminder when your metrics dip, when no one signs up, or when motivation runs dry:
You don’t need to go fast.
You just need to keep going.

💪 Keep Going.
That’s Indie10k.

October 21, 2025 Build Log: A Tiny Streak Bug in Calculating Streak! 🐞

Today I fixed a small but meaningful bug in Indie10k’s streak logic.

The current behavior was:

After 24 hours pass without a rep, your momentum pauses, and your streak breaks.

Sounds fine, right?
But here’s the catch:

A user could do a rep at 12:00 AM on Day 1, and then another at 11:00 PM on Day 2.
That’s 47 hours apart, but it should still count as a two-day streak.

Instead, Indie10k treated it as a streak break.
The math wasn't correct, and the logic wasn’t human.

One user noticed this and sent me feedback — and I’m really glad they did.
It’s a strong signal that people care about their momentum, not just their metrics.

Fixing this wasn’t just a bug patch — it’s a reminder that habits happen in rhythm, not in rigid timeboxes.
And that’s what Indie10k is all about.

October 18, 2025 The real traction breakthrough for Indie10k: Listening Closer!

Every founder remembers their first 100 users — not because of the number, but because of what it teaches you:

That growth isn’t about shouting louder, it’s about listening closer.

Today, Indie10k has 190 users. Some are curious explorers; some are advocates of Indie10k; and some are simply daily rep doers.

The next 810 will come from doubling down on what those first 190 taught me.

Keep showing up. Keep sharing proof. Keep asking, “What did this week’s 10 users teach me?”

That’s the real traction breakthrough.

This is what I'm doing everyday for Indie10k.

October 17, 2025 Build Log — Trial Now Ends After 7 Reps, Not 7 Days

Today I changed how the Indie10k trial works.
It no longer ends 7 days after you sign up.
It now ends after you’ve completed 7 reps.

Why this matters

Time urgency isn’t the key to Indie10k’s success.
Rhythm is.

Building in public, validating ideas, writing updates — these things don’t always fit a daily timer. Some weeks you sprint. Some weeks you recover. What matters is that you keep coming back.

You can take one rep today, leave for a few days, watch how your project performs, and return for another.
Each rep compounds the last.
That’s the belief behind Indie10k — helping indie devs build momentum, not guilt.

It’s not about streaks for the sake of streaks.
It’s about rhythm.
About returning again and again, because you want to.

Keep going!

October 17, 2025 Keep Going: The Indie10k Manifesto

In a world obsessed with outcomes… some indie devs still care about progress.

They don’t chase trends. They don’t wait for perfect timing.
They wake up, open the laptop, and build something — again.

No applause. No audience. Just one more line of code,
one more tweet, one more rep.

The world calls it small.
We call it compounding.

Because every commit is belief made visible.
Every small win adds up to something unstoppable.

They don’t say, “someday I’ll make it.”
They say, “today, I’ll move it forward.”

They know that ideas don’t die from competition —
they die from hesitation.

These builders — the quiet ones,
the stubborn ones,
the ones who track, tweak, and try again —
they are the true growth hackers.

Not the loud.
Not the lucky.
The consistent.

At Indie10k, we build for them.
For the makers who believe that momentum is the only magic.
That proof is better than promise.

So if you’re still here — building, showing up,
even when no one’s watching —

Keep Going.

Because momentum isn’t something you find.
It’s something you build.

October 16, 2025 Build Log: You Need Courage to Make a Unique Thing

The truth is — your SaaS core idea might not be unique.
Mine isn’t either.

The heart of Indie10k is the same as Duolingo or any fitness app — small, daily reps that build a long-term habit.
That idea has existed forever.

But what makes something unique isn’t the core.
It’s where you apply it.
It’s how you reshape it to solve a pain that no one has packaged this way before.

For indie developers, the hardest part isn’t writing code — it’s showing up for growth.
Marketing, selling, talking to users — that’s the real pain.
And that’s where Indie10k applies the “daily rep” idea.

It takes courage to do that.
To take something familiar and use it in a space where people don’t expect it.
To face confusion, doubt, and “isn’t that just another tracker?” comments —
and still keep building.

Uniqueness isn’t born from invention.
It’s born from conviction.
From daring to apply a known truth in a new, meaningful way.

That’s what I’m building with Indie10k
a growth habit system for indie devs.
It’s not new in form, but it’s new in purpose.
And that takes courage.

This totally resonates. You nailed it so well what most builders miss it's not necessarily about inventing the wheel, but rolling it somewhere different. The candor here is also great; admitting that your idea isn't "original" in thought, but significant in implementation, is true founder maturity.

I adore the way you have defined uniqueness as conviction, that it is about being present, re-applying a known truth in a different way, and sticking with it even when others are not yet seeing the vision. That is what differentiates ephemeral projects from enduring influence.

Indie10k is the sort of system that most indie devs really need uncomplicated, reliable, and grounded on creating real habits rather than following hype. Kudos to creating something that gets creators to keep coming back

Thank you for giving it a read and a thoughtful comment! Indie10k isn't like the other dozens of projects in today's build log. It's more than unique, it's lovely. I hope you enjoy using Indie10k while growing your SaaS to your next TenK milestone. :)

October 15, 2025 Build Log: Why Indie10k Lets You Fix Broken Streaks (and Still Count It)

Today I made a small but meaningful tweak to Indie10k.
Users can now fix broken streaks from the past seven days.

That’s it — no fireworks. But it changes the tone of how I want users to think about showing up.

Why this matters

Most habit apps — Duolingo, Headspace, Notion streaks — build on punishment loops.
You miss a day? You lose your streak. The app shames you with sad icons or broken flames, and even, words, worst ever.

Indie10k isn’t built that way.
This product is about building growth momentum, not performing discipline for an algorithm.

Because real indie builders have messy weeks.
You ship on Monday and Tuesday, then your kid gets sick. Or a deploy breaks.
It happens.
Two days of build, one day of growth — that’s often the real rhythm.

So, I built this feature not to erase the past, but to keep your story continuous.

How it works

If you missed a few days, you can now open the Fix Streak page.
It shows the past seven days of your reps.
You can pick any missed day and complete a “make-up rep.”

That rep still counts — because the value isn’t in when you log it, but that you reflected and did the work.

It’s like journaling yesterday’s growth. It still builds the muscle.

Why I limited it to 7 days

Fixing streaks is a last resort, not a cheat code.

If you haven’t touched your project for two weeks, you’re not fixing — you’re restarting.
Momentum fades after a week. That’s just how attention works.

So I capped the fix window to 7 days.
Beyond that, the system resets naturally — not to punish, but to give you a fresh start.

What I learned

After launching this, I noticed one thing immediately:
When people feel permission instead of guilt, they re-engage faster.

This update isn’t about generosity — it’s about psychology.
People don’t build habits through shame; they build them through agency.

You can’t guilt someone into consistency.
You can only help them recover their rhythm.

Reflection

I’ve come to think of Indie10k less like a gym and more like a growth diary.
If you miss a few pages, you can still go back and fill them in.
It’s your story — and it’s better with continuity.

Fix streaks if you must.
But remember: the real win is still showing up today.

💬 Your turn:
How do you recover when your own streak breaks — rebuild, restart, or ignore it?
Let me know.
