April 19, 2026 I built a tool that turns my kids into the heroes of their own stories

I’m a father of two young kids, and bedtime stories are a big part of our routine.

But I always felt that most stories are too generic. They’re nice, but they don’t really connect on a personal level.

I started thinking—what if the story was actually about my kids?

Their experiences, their favorite things, even situations they’re going through.

So I built a small project called Kidario.

It lets parents create personalized storybooks where the child becomes the main character. You can base the story on:

• real-life moments (first day at school, trips, etc.)

• things they love (dinosaurs, princesses, space…)

• or even emotions (like fear of the dark)

The goal is to make stories more meaningful—not just something you read, but something the child feels part of.

It’s still early, but I’ve already seen how much more engaged kids are when the story is about them.

I’d really appreciate your feedback:

– Does this feel useful?

– Is this something you’d use as a parent?

Here’s the project: https://www.kidario.com

I also made a short demo video:
