May 4, 2026 What tools are you actually using to run your freelance business — and what drives you crazy about them?

Hey IH! I'm building a tool for freelancers and doing some research before my full launch.

Curious to know... what does your current stack look like? Project management, invoicing, client communication, file approvals, time tracking... how are you managing it all?

And more importantly: what's the most frustrating part? Is it the cost? Switching between too many apps? Clients not knowing how to use the tools you send them? Something else entirely?

Genuinely want to understand how freelancers are working day to day. Would really appreciate your honest take.

May 4, 2026 I built the tool I always wished existed as a freelancer — looking for beta testers

Hey ID community! I've been building Lance for the past few months and I'm looking for freelancers in design, web dev, and marketing to be among the first to test it.

Lance replaces the scattered pile of tools freelancers use to run their business — Monday, Notion, separate invoicing tools, all of it — with one clean, simple app:

  • Client and project management with a full CRM pipeline

  • Task management with customisable kanban boards

  • Time tracking that feeds directly into invoices

  • Invoicing and payment tracking

  • File approvals — clients review, pin comments, and approve via a link with no login required

  • Notes linked to clients and projects

Use code BETATESTERS at signup for lifetime free access — no credit card, no trial countdown.

There's a Feedback tab built right into the app so you don't have to go anywhere to share your thoughts. Brutal honesty very welcome — I'd rather know what's broken now than after launch.

Happy to answer any questions here!

About

As a freelancer I built this for myself after finding it infuriating to juggle so many tools and subscriptions — too expensive, too complex, total overkill. So I built Lance: a simpler, smarter all-in-one for freelancers
