Find the coding mistakes in a Xero or QuickBooks file before

Ledger Optics reads a chart of accounts and transaction coding and surfaces likely errors: duplicate payments, miscoded expenses, overlapping or near-duplicate account names, catch-all accounts, naming drift, and missing descriptions. It's built for bookkeepers and accountants who inherit a file someone else has been running and need to find the problems before they compound.

There's a free browser tool at ledgeroptics.com/tools/coa-health.html that checks a chart of accounts. It runs entirely in the page, so the file is never uploaded anywhere. Free written guides on cleaning up Xero and QuickBooks files are also published on the site.

This is an early prototype, not a generally available product, built by one person (Jay Qadan) with no team. Pricing is free. Feedback from bookkeepers actually using it on real files is genuinely welcome.

The inherited-file use case seems much stronger than generic “COA cleanup.” When bookkeepers use the tool on real files, does it surface issues they would otherwise miss or materially shorten the review before they take the client on?
