Financial OS for creators
We're building Milezi : a mileage and invoicing app for UK self-employed people and freelancers.
The idea started with a specific problem we found while researching existing mileage apps.
Apps can automatically track your mileage, but sometimes the tracking stops working silently.
No warning.
No notification.
No indication that anything went wrong.
Users may only discover it weeks later, after business trips were never recorded.
We found this complaint repeated across different competitor apps, which made us think there might be a real problem worth solving.
So instead of building another complicated all-in-one accounting platform, we're starting with a much simpler goal:
Make sure users know when their mileage tracking isn't working instead of letting it fail silently.
Who Milezi is for
UK self-employed people and freelancers, especially people with irregular, multi-stop workdays:
Mobile tradespeople
Freelancers visiting clients
Delivery and service professionals
Self-employed people travelling between different jobs
What we're building for the MVP
🚗 Trip logging : manually start and stop trips and mark them as business or personal
📄 Simple invoices : create an invoice and attach a Stripe or PayPal payment link
🧾 Receipt capture : quickly photograph and attach receipts to a trip or invoice
📊 Weekly overview :see your mileage totals and estimated tax deductions
🔔 Logging reminders :see how many days you've actually logged during the week
We're deliberately keeping the MVP focused.
No complicated accounting software.
No advanced financial reports.
No holding customer money.
And no automatic background GPS tracking yet.
We want to validate the basic workflow first before adding more complexity. If users genuinely want automatic tracking, that can become a later upgrade.
The long-term differentiator we're exploring is simple:
Mileage tracking shouldn't fail silently. If something stops working, you should know.
We've built the landing page and opened a waitlist.
Now we're looking for honest feedback from founders and, especially, UK self-employed people:
Is this a problem worth solving? And if you track business mileage, what frustrates you most about the tools you currently use?
A creator gets a brand deal.
Then comes the messy part:
→ Remembering what was agreed
→ Tracking when the brand should pay
→ Sending an invoice
→ Following up on unpaid deals
→ Recording expenses
→ Figuring out how much they actually made after taxes
→ Keeping everything organized across spreadsheets, notes, email and DMs
The problem isn’t that creators can’t do these things.
It’s that there isn’t one simple place designed around the entire brand-deal workflow.
That’s what I’m trying to solve with Paypoint.
The idea is simple:
Brand deal → Invoice → Payment tracking → Expenses → Taxes → Real take-home income
Instead of using several different tools, Paypoint gives creators one workspace to manage the financial side of their brand deals.
The MVP currently focuses on:
Track brand deals and payment deadlines
* Create professional PDF invoices
* Log expenses related to deals
* Estimate real take-home income after taxesExport data in csv
But before I build more:
Do creators actually need this?
If you create content and work with brands, I’d genuinely like to know:
How do you currently track brand deals?
What happens when a brand pays late?
Do you create invoices?
What is the most annoying part of managing the money side of your creator business?
I’m not looking for compliments. I want to know if this is solving a real problem.
I hate data entry. I own a few doors, and every quarter I dread reconciling receipts for my accountant.
So I wrote a script that uses GPT-4 Vision. I take a crumpled, greasy Home Depot receipt, snap a pic, and the AI extracts the data and tags it with the correct Schedule E category (Repairs, Utilities, CapEx, etc.). It exports straight to a CSV.
It took me 2 hours to set up, and it processed 50 receipts in about 3 minutes with 95% accuracy.
I'm thinking about polishing this up into a simple web app for other landlords. No fluff, just drag-and-drop PDFs or phone photos, and it spits out a clean spreadsheet for your CPA.
Before I waste time building this:
1. Do you currently use QuickBooks, Stessa, or just a shoebox?
2. What is the most annoying part of tracking your property expenses?
3. Would you pay $15-$20/month for a tool that eliminated manual data entry?
I'm not selling anything yet. Just trying to see if I'm the only one who finds this tedious.

Hey indie hackers!
I'm Emmanuel, the solo developer behind PayPoint.
The Problem
Managing 10+ brand deals a month using spreadsheets was becoming a total headache. Between keeping track of who owes what, calculating expenses per deal, creating invoices, and constantly chasing late payments manually, too much time was being lost to admin work. Generic invoicing tools weren't built with the creator workflow in mind.
The Solution: PayPoint
I built PayPoint specifically to streamline brand deal operations for creators:
Deal Tracking: Log every brand deal, set clear due dates, and instantly see who owes you money.
Quick Invoicing: Generate professional PDF invoices and send them directly to brands in just two clicks.
Automated Reminders (Pro): Automatically sends follow-up emails for overdue invoices so you never have to manually chase payments.
Frictionless Payment Portal: Brands can view and pay invoices directly without needing to sign up or create an account.
Expense Calculation: Easily calculate expenses per deal to track actual profitability.
Why I'm Posting & What I Need From You
Before spending money on a custom domain, formal incorporation, and further infrastructure costs, I want to validate this properly with the community.
Validation: If you are a creator or work with them, is this a pain point you actively experience, or do spreadsheets/existing software handle this well enough?
Beta Testers: I am looking for a few early testers to try the current build, and give raw, honest feedback on what's missing or what could be improved.
Feature Gap: What essential feature would make this a must-have tool for your workflow?
Would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or critiques in the comments!
👋 Hey
I'm Emmanuel, a creator who got tired of chasing brands for payments. I built PayPoint a simple finance tool for creators to track deals, send invoices, track expenses and get paid faster.
💡 What it does:
· Track brand deals: log every deal, set due dates, and see who owes you.
· Send professional invoices: generate PDF invoices and send them to brands in 2 clicks.
· Automated reminders (Pro): emails brands when invoices are overdue so you don't have to.
· Payment portal: brands can view and pay invoices without creating an account.
. Calculate expenses for each deals.
Why I built it:
I was managing 10+ brand deals a month with spreadsheets and chasing payments manually. I couldn't find a tool built specifically for creators so I built one.
Quick stats:
· Users: 5 active (just launched!)
· Revenue: ₦3,000/month per Pro user (~$4 USD)
· Tech: Node.js + Supabase + Paystack + resend(coming soon please)
🎯 What's next:
· Multi-currency support
· Analytics dashboards
· Mobile app
❓ Questions I'd love feedback on:
1. What's the #1 feature you'd want in a creator finance tool?
2. Does the pricing (Free / ₦3,000 Pro) make sense?
3. What would stop you from using this?
Try it out: https://paypoint-backend.vercel.app
(It's free I'd love honest feedback!)
P.S. I'm a solo founder, I'm bootstrapped, and I'm learning as I go. Be kind 🙏

The 5 active users and the fact that you’re already seeing paid usage make this more interesting than a typical launch post. You’re also describing several adjacent financial jobs in one product, which makes the early user behavior especially telling: the strongest signal may come from what creators actually keep returning to rather than what they say they want.
About
I realized that most finance tools are built for businesses, not creators. Creators need something simple: "What do I earn? Who owes me? When do I get paid?" I built PayPoint to answer those 3 questions instantly.
