After just running Readbetter as a pure side project (i.e. not side business), I put up usage limits and introduced paid plans.

More than 500 people have signed up for Readbetter.
In all of 2021 I treated Readbetter as a pure side-project and didn't have much time to work on it, especially not to market it.
The only "marketing" that got me to this point were a few evergreen posts about it on Reddit and Twitter, as well as a user generated blog post about it.

It's an amazing feeling to see people use a product that you built - it's even cooler when users turn into mini evangelists. That happened to me when one of my earliest users (who I didn't know in any way before) published a blog post about my service: https://gustavosouza.blog/automatically-send-substack-newsletters-to-kindle/
It's since driven a bunch of users to Readbetter.

Launched the first version of Readbetter by announcing it on my personal Twitter. Didn't get a lot - but some meaningful interactions and comments and so the first users started signing up and using the product.

I wanted a way to read my favorite newsletters distraction-free. All of the available options had lots of shortcomings - especially in formatting newsletters to PDF or omitting tweets and images. Readbetter fixes that!
