August 19, 2026 Why I'm building ReleaseForge

I'm an indie artist. Every release, I re-type the same metadata - title, ISRCs, splits, PRO registration, credits - into my distribution service, then whichever PRO portal, one at a time, then update social media headers, website, and notify my collaborators. Same 20 data points, filled in several times, because none of these platforms talk to each other.

It's not hard work. It's just repetitive admin that eats time I'd rather spend making or promoting music. And when you're manually re-entering splits and PRO info every time, it's easy to get something wrong - which is how indie artists end up with royalties sitting unclaimed or paid to the wrong person. It's a pain.

So I built ReleaseForge: one master profile, filled out once, that pre-fills and guides you through the upload on every platform after that. Not automation, not a replacement for your distributor - just no more retyping the same info ten times a release, and a central dashboard to keep those records.

I built it because I needed it myself. Now I'm trying to find out if other indie artists feel the same friction before I turn payments on - looking for 10 real artists to run a full release through it and tell me what's broken, missing, or actually useful. Lifetime free access for anyone who does.

Form's linked below if you want in, but honestly I'd love to just hear from other artists/producers here - does this admin grind hit you too, or have you found workarounds?

The repeated metadata entry is a very concrete pain point. What stands out is that the product is being built around a workflow the founder actually lives through rather than a hypothetical use case.

It has helped more than I can even describe, having been through this process a number of times this was something that really put me off treating it as more than a hobby sometimes.

That makes sense. It sounds like the repeated process was enough of a real burden to justify building around it.

I’d be interested in continuing the conversation—what’s the best email to reach you at?

About

I'm an indie music artist with a major pain during the release process with the repeated entry of the same data across multiple dashboards and accounts. Release Forge centralises the admin and cures the headache.
