August 27, 2026 Back after 2 years - finally shipped that backlog I've been avoiding 😅

Hey everyone! Long time no see.. My last post here was Dec 2023 so it's been a minute.

I've been on hiatus heads-down on a completely different project, but I kept getting the itch to revisit my remote job boards.

Finally decided to just go for it and cleared out a bunch of long-standing backlog items I've wanted to do forever.

Shipped a full redesign, a ton of perf improvements, and a massive refactoring/cleanup that was long overdue.

Also added new Trends & Reports like AI takeover index, framework wars, salary/PTO transparency, geo/volume trends etc. Basically turning 2 years of job data into actual insights.

Fun part: I built most of this with Ox (alpha) + Muse Spark via OpenCode and honestly it's been insane for productivity.

Made the boring refactoring parts actually enjoyable, felt like pair-programming with a senior dev 24/7.

It's live now and would love your brutal feedback on the new design/reports! And curious anyone else been building with Ox / Muse Spark?

May 4, 2026 How I accidentally built a "parallel universe" clone of an existing app (and launched anyway)

I was vibe-coding my new trivia platform, PlayQurio, and asked ChatGPT for a name. The very first suggestion it gave me was already a live site... with the same logo I had just generated.

Instead of quitting, I decided to build a version that was actually fun to play—moving away from boring multiple-choice text and toward a premium "tactile" experience.

The Core Features:

  • 30+ Interactive Game Modes: I built unique engines for map-pinning challenges, interactive chess puzzles, visual Rebus riddles, and numeric estimation rounds.

  • The 1v1 Duel Arena: A high-stakes, real-time battle mode where you can use strategic power-ups (like the "Double-Edged Sword" to steal points) to outsmart your friends.

  • AI-Powered Content Engine: You can instantly turn any Wikipedia URL or 100-page PDF into a playable, multi-format quiz. The AI handles the heavy lifting of question creation and fact-checking.

  • Synchronous Remote Play: A dedicated mode for distributed teams or live events where every player is perfectly synchronized to a global timer.

The Result: A trivia platform that feels like a legendary board game rather than a standard classroom tool.

I'd love to hear your feedback on the "tactile" UI or the variety of game modes. Check it out at playqurio.com!

Let's hope this doesn't make me switch projects :D

Hey congrats! This is a neat idea and I like the simple UI.

How do you get traffic? Just from socials like Twitter and Reddit?

September 1, 2023 Well this is embarrassing...

Well this is embarrassing.. I had a major issue in our payment functionality made it impossible to post a new job. That explains why I didn't have a sale lately..
Huge shoutout to a person who contacted me yesterday saying that they receive an error at the end of the payment flow. I fixed it and they paid next day.

When customers give you this kind of feedback its worth giving them a free upgrade.

This seems like it can save a BOATLOAD of time.

@martijnnanne Yeah, in fact about 30% of users come on the site through our Twitter posts. Will report back when I got enough info on how Reddit performs.:) Btw, let me know what your job board is and if it has any remote opportunities. I can probably list them out in mine?

Interesting! Looking forward to hear more about reddit performance.

How many views per day do you get now? I'm mainly trying to get my site to rank in google and get views through SEO. I'm curious what your experiences are on that front.

My jobboard is https://vacaturesinfarma.nl/. It is in dutch though and doesn't have a lot of IT jobs. It does have some remote opportunities but I didn't built in a specific filter for it yet.

Hey, I am getting about 100-150 clicks per day, some of them through search, others through twitter and my email newsletter.

Your site is pretty cool! Also next.js based I see :))

  3. 1

Did you already get a lot of traffic from twitter or not? I am wondering if I should do the same but I don't understand why a twitter account without any followers will drive any traffic to my job board. (I have a new job board in the pharma industry)

February 15, 2023 Added subscriber counter!

Added a quick little subscriber counter which will now show how many people have already subscribed to my weekly job offers newsletter. I hope this increases motivation in
users to be part of something bigger.
Subscribe now, and get 8 jobs per week, you can also get only jobs with listed salary! https://ibb.co/TcP73Mc

December 11, 2022 Better social cards implemented

Hey all, we implemented a cool new design of our social cards. Basically, everytime you share a job post on social media, you will see a nice preview of it like the one below.
We are also working on covering all the other pages too! Enjoy!

About

It's hard finding the right remote job right now. Often, people would apply to a remote job, only to find out later that it really wasn't quite set up for remote working or that the pay was nowhere near what was expected
