Connecting Shopify and Square Without the Inventory Headaches

We’ve been building DPL Square Integration for retailers who sell online with Shopify and in-store with Square POS.
The challenge isn’t just connecting the two platforms. Products need to match correctly, inventory needs to update at the right locations, and merchants need control over which system manages their data.
DPL helps with:

Product and variant matching

Refund and cancellation sync
Sync alerts and manual retry
The goal is simple: less manual checking and fewer inventory surprises between online and in-store sales.

Inventory mismatches probably create the most immediate pain because merchants feel them directly at checkout, especially when the same SKU is selling online and in-store.
But from the integration side, product matching is often what creates the underlying complexity. If variants, SKUs, or locations are mapped incorrectly, inventory sync can technically be “working” while still updating the wrong item or location.
That’s why we’ve put a lot of effort into variant matching, location controls, shared-SKU handling, and giving merchants visibility when a sync fails instead of silently letting the data drift.
