Have been looking for tools that help me create shorts. If you want, I can do a live video review of Shortmatic with realtime reactions and feedback. Typically helps founders see what's confusing for new users.

That would be really helpful — thanks for offering.

Happy to do a live walkthrough. What’s the easiest way for you: Loom, Zoom, or just screen-share while you go through a first upload?

I’ll send a free/test account if you need one. Appreciate you taking the time.

Here is a first look video. Suggestions from the review:

        1. Replace demo with real input-output examples

The reviewer found the current example confusing because the long-form video and resulting shorts featured completely different people, undermining trust in the transformation quality.

        2. Specify exactly what the free tier includes

The copy says 'free to try' and 'start free' but leaves the reviewer unsure what is actually allowed before payment is required.

        3. Clarify whether video minutes refer to input or output

The plan lists '15 video minutes' without stating if this measures the uploaded long video or the generated shorts.

        4. Define or remove the term 'best edits'

The reviewer explicitly asked what 'best edits' means in the plan comparison and found it unclear.

        5. Explain or eliminate the separate AI operations quota

The reviewer questioned what the 40 AI operations cover beyond the core transcription and clipping already described, calling the metric confusing.

        6. Justify or remove storage limits from pricing tiers

The reviewer wondered why users must pay for storage when the workflow suggests videos can be downloaded and deleted quickly.

Thanks Tommy — this is exactly the kind of honest first-impression feedback I was hoping for.

You nailed six things we need to fix:

          1) Homepage demo should be one real source → clips (not mismatched stock footage)

          2) Spell out what Free includes before anyone hits paywall

          3) Label “video minutes” as source upload length, not Short output

          4) Explain “Best Edit” in plain language on pricing

          5) Clarify what counts as an AI operation / background job

          6) Explain why workspace storage exists (review before download/delete)

We’re updating pricing + FAQ copy this week. The BetaBloom link shows “Review not found” on my side — if you have a fresh delivery URL I’d love to watch the full walkthrough.

Really appreciate you taking the time. If you try ShortMatic again after the copy updates, I’d love your take on the review/approve flow.

Glad the quick review was helpful. This same link is working for me and showing the video. If it's still not working for you, let me know and I can send you a video file. Reach out to me on X @BetaBloomNow so I can send you a video.

The “what it will not do” detail is unusually useful. It shows you’re learning from actual usage rather than describing the product only from the builder’s perspective.

Thanks — that part came from early users getting confused about what “AI find clips” actually means. Trying to set expectations early so people don’t bounce.

If you try it, I’d love any notes on the review/approve step.

That makes sense. I’d be interested in what users end up saying about that review step. What’s the best email to reach you on?

        1. 1

Best email is support [at] shortmatic [dot] app — happy to hear notes on the review/approve step anytime.

Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.

About

I kept spending more time cutting podcasts and tutorials into Shorts than recording them. Existing tools either auto-publish weak clips or dump you into a full editor. ShortMatic exists as the middle path: AI proposes mo
